Gateway Program for First Time Freshman
Gateway allows first time freshman who are initially denied admission to earn college credit and meet certain requirements that guarantee acceptance to Texas Tech.
You have two choices - Summer Gateway or Fall/Spring Gateway. Please read the participation requirements and program benefits for both before making your decision.
In order for students to enroll for this program, the following criteria must be met:
- Graduate from high school during the 2009-2010 school year.
- Have no transferable college coursework following high school graduation.
(Students are eligible to participate in the Gateway program if they have completed dual credit or developmental college coursework during high school. Dual credit coursework will NOT fulfill the hour requirements for the Gateway Program.) - Applied to and been denied admission from Texas Tech University.
- Designate online either the Summer or Fall/Spring Gateway Program. (The student may not choose both.)
- Follow the enrollment procedures and enroll at the chosen partner college.
- Complete the requirements of the chosen Gateway Program.
