What made you decide on Texas Tech?

“Growing up in a family that strongly supported another school, it was a difficult decision for me to visit another university’s campus, much less actually enroll. However, I knew from the second I got to Texas Tech’s campus that this was the place for me.”

Rex, a native of Lampasas, Texas, is a coordinator for Visitors Center programs and handles recruitment for the Lubbock area.

Hometown:

Where did you go to college:

Texas Tech University

What was your major:

Agricultural Communications

Through his involvement with various student organizations on campus, Rex was able to grow both as a student and a professional. His second semester at Tech, he was able to join an organization called President’s Select – a student ambassador program responsible for providing campus tours. “This was an amazing experience for me. I was on the front lines of recruiting for Texas Tech and loved being able to see the excitement on families’ faces when they experienced the Red Raider family. New students always ask me for tips once they arrive on campus and my response is always ‘Go to class, and get involved!’” The experiences Rex gained as an undergraduate student sparked his interest in recruiting for Texas Tech once he graduated.
