“When I was 12 years old, I remember my first visit to the Texas Tech campus. I was blown away at how beautiful the campus was. Once I started looking at colleges, I couldn’t believe how friendly and helpful everyone at Texas Tech was. They really made me feel at home.”
Zach, an Austin native, served as the president of his fraternity during his undergraduate career at Texas Tech. Greek life allowed Zach to meet new people, serve the Lubbock community, and find some of his best friends. The Greek community is extremely involved in the Lubbock community and helps the surrounding area with events such as “Greek Build” a Habitat for Humanity project.

“Every year, my friends and I would find a three-day weekend and drive to Angel Fire, New Mexico to spend the weekend skiing. Those were always some of my favorite weekends.”
One of Zach’s favorite Texas Tech traditions was the student tailgate called Raidergate and home football games. Students can get into all athletic events for free; just swipe your student I.D.
Before you leave town, Zach says to check out the Sunday brunch at Home Café, “by far the best in town.”
