On Campus Housing
“I really enjoyed living on campus, being involved with Complex Council and participating in the events that the Residence Halls Association hosts.”Ashley Liles The Texas Tech University Residence Hall system houses about 7,000 students in 14 residence halls, three suite-style halls, and one apartment complex. Living in the halls is convenient, simple and virtually worry free. It’s a fun and easy way to experience the excitement of college life. Students who live in the halls are more likely to meet new friends and don’t have the hassle of leaving and returning to campus for events, activities and classes. Priority Room Selection is the system we use to guide students through the process of choosing their own bed space and dining plan. It allows you to select your own bed space in a particular room and hall; it does not allow you to select a particular roommate. On campus housing is in high demand. New incoming admitted students can begin signing up online in early November. There is no deadline for signing up, but all rooms are selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. Learning Communities (LCs) are unique and transformative communities where students seeking similar academic goals can live, learn and play together. Living in our LCs boosts your chances for academic success and offers you the opportunity to share an intellectual experience with your peers. Students with fewer than 30 college hours, excluding dual credit or credit by exam, are required to live on campus unless exempted by University Student Housing.![]()
